Fundraising for our School Therapy & Autism Dog

Picture
To begin our fundraising campaign for the Therapy Dog our principal Sheila, deputy principal Aoife and one of our class teachers Claire C will abseil from the roof of the Hogan stand on the 11th of June.
We greatly appreciate all donations.

We, as a school staff and Board of Management, feel our school would benefit from a School Therapy and Autism Dog.
A school therapy dog is a specially trained, calm, and affectionate dog that works within an educational setting to support the emotional, social, and academic well-being of students and staff. Unlike service dogs that assist one specific person, school therapy dogs provide comfort, companionship, and emotional regulation to the entire school community
We hope to work with My Canine Companion to introduce a dog to our school. https://www.mycaninecompanion.ie/

“This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to purchase devices for learners, purchase software to help with assistive technologies, and upgrade our classroom infrastructure, in addition to the purchase of software and digital resources
